Cyberbullying

Bullying is a problem that has existed for a long time. However, the emergence of technology and social media has led to a modern type of bullying called cyberbulling, or on-line bullying. Cyberbullying is the use of technology to harass, threaten, embarrass or target another person. Cyber bullying can sometimes be easy to spot if your child shows you a text, tweet or response to a status update on Facebook that is mean or cruel or has made them feel scared or anxious. Other acts, however, may be less obvious and some children may want to keep their privacy and may feel too embarrassed or scared to say anything. Staying involved in children’s cyber world can help parents protect them from its dangers.
